PRIVACY POLICY
King Crusher Lures (kingcrusherlures.ca), Port Dover, Ontario, Canada
Last updated: October 24, 2026
1. WHO WE ARE
King Crusher Lures ("we", "us") sells fishing lures online to customers across Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and how you can reach us about it. We follow Canada's privacy law (PIPEDA) and aim to meet the basics of Quebec's Law 25 for customers in Quebec.
2. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR PRIVACY
Our person responsible for the protection of personal information (privacy officer) is Ty Earle, Owner.
Email: info@kingcrusherlures.ca
Send any privacy question, access request, correction request or complaint there. We will reply within 30 days.
3. WHAT WE COLLECT, AND WHY
- Name, email, phone, shipping and billing address, when you place an order, request an invoice, or order as a dealer: to process and ship your order, send receipts and invoices, and answer questions about it.
- Payment details, when you pay at checkout or on an invoice: to take payment. Card details go to the payment processor, not to us (see section 4).
- Name, email and message, when you use a contact, dealer or other form on the site: to reply to you.
- Chat messages and the details you give in chat, when you use the chat on the site: to answer your question.
- Email address (and name if asked), when you sign up for our mailing list: to send news, new lures and offers. Only if you chose to sign up.
- Device, browser, pages viewed, approximate location and how you found us, when you browse the site: to keep the site working, understand what is useful, and improve it.
We do not collect more than we need for these purposes, and we only use it for the purposes listed here unless we ask you first or the law allows it. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Anyone under 14 needs a parent or guardian to consent for them. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
4. WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services we use to run the store:
- Wix.com hosts our website and runs our store checkout, forms, chat and invoices. Wix stores data on servers that may be outside Canada, including the United States and Europe.
- Payment processors handle your payment at checkout or on an invoice (the providers offered at checkout, such as Wix Payments, and Interac e-Transfer through our bank). They have their own privacy policies.
- Shipping carriers (for example Canada Post or a courier) receive your name, address and phone to deliver your order.
- Google (Google Analytics 4, and Google ads tools if we run ads) receives site-usage data, only if you allow analytics or marketing cookies (see section 6).
- Our accountant and bookkeeping software see order and invoice records for tax and accounting.
- AI service providers (currently Anthropic, maker of Claude) process the information described in section 7 when we use AI tools to help run the business.
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
Because some of these services are outside Canada, your information may be handled under the laws of those places.
5. CONSENT
We collect, use and share your information with your consent, or where the law allows it without consent (for example, to complete an order you placed, or to keep tax records).
- Placing an order or sending us a form means you agree we can use your details to deal with it.
- We only email you marketing if you signed up, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every email identifies King Crusher Lures and has an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to be removed. We process unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.
- You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing info@kingcrusherlures.ca. Withdrawing may mean we can't complete an order or keep a record we need.
6. COOKIES AND ANALYTICS
Our site uses cookies and similar tools. You choose which ones run.
- Essential cookies keep the store, cart, checkout and security working, and remember your cookie choice (using a cookie and a small note in your browser's storage). These are always on.
- Analytics (off unless you turn it on): we use Google Analytics 4 (property G-NLF17TSLNB) and Wix's site statistics to see which pages are visited and how people find the site. They use cookies, an identifier, device details and approximate location. IP addresses are anonymised in Google Analytics.
- Marketing (off unless you turn it on): tools that measure our ads and share visit data with ad partners such as Google or Meta, if we run ads. We do not sell your personal information.
- Chat: our live chat is part of how the site works. It only collects what you type into it and the details you choose to share.
- How you choose: when you first visit, our cookie banner asks you to accept all, decline, or pick by category in Settings. Declining doesn't stop you from using the site or buying from us. Nothing outside "Essential" runs until you agree.
- Changing your mind: click Cookie settings at the bottom of any page at any time to change or withdraw your choice. It applies from the next page you open. Cookies already stored in your browser can also be deleted in your browser settings.
- We keep a record of each cookie choice (the choice, the date and the banner version, with no IP address or other identifier) to show that we asked.
7. HOW WE USE AI TOOLS
We use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to help us run our business. That means your personal information may be read and processed by AI, for example:
- to help draft replies to your emails, chat messages and form questions;
- to help process orders and invoices and keep our bookkeeping and tax records;
- to understand which products customers buy and to plan our marketing emails and offers (only sent to people who signed up);
- to review how our website is used so we can improve it.
The information involved can include your name, contact details, order history, and messages you send us. Card numbers are not included. They stay with the payment processor. The AI tools are run for us by service providers that may store and process data outside Canada, including in the United States. We use them only for the purposes in this policy.
A person at King Crusher Lures reviews anything the AI helps prepare before it is sent to you or acted on. We do not use AI to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects. If you'd prefer that we not process your information with AI tools, email info@kingcrusherlures.ca and we'll tell you what we can do. Some uses, such as our bookkeeping, may still be needed to complete your order.
8. WHERE WE STORE IT AND HOW WE PROTECT IT
Your information is stored by Wix and the services above. Access on our side is limited to the people who need it to run the business, protected by passwords. No system is perfectly secure. We keep a record of any privacy breach, and if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (and, for Quebec residents, the Commission d'acces a l'information) as soon as possible.
9. HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
- Order, invoice and payment records: 6 years, to meet tax and accounting rules.
- Form and chat messages: up to 2 years after the last contact.
- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics data: according to our retention setting in Google Analytics.
When we no longer need information, we delete or anonymize it.
10. YOUR RIGHTS: ACCESS, CORRECTION, WITHDRAWAL
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information, where we are not required to keep it;
- stop using your information for marketing or withdraw your consent.
Email info@kingcrusherlures.ca with your request. We may need to confirm who you are first. We'll reply within 30 days and explain if we can't fully agree to a request. Quebec residents have additional rights, including asking that their information be given to them (or to another organization) in a structured, commonly used format, asking us to stop spreading their information or to de-index a link to it where the law allows, and asking how automated decisions are made. Access requests are free. We don't make decisions about you using automated processing alone.
11. COMPLAINTS
If you're not happy with our answer, contact us first. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or, for Quebec residents, the Commission d'acces a l'information du Quebec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).
12. SALES AND RETURNS
This policy covers privacy only. Our store policy (all sales final) is on the store's policy page.
13. CHANGES
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above shows the latest version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
